At the start of January the Friction Programme Grant team held a two day facilitated kick off meeting to officially launch the programme of work. Day 1 saw the researchers set out the goals of the programme for the years to come, the vision for the outputs and impact of the project, and identified the team strengths and structure.
Day 2 involved detailed discussions on the individual Challenge areas within the programmes. Individual Challenge projects were reviewed and discussed and action planning for the first 6 month period of the projects were drawn up.
The team also discussed exciting plans for outreach activities and how the team would maximise the impact of the programme.
